Backup your recovery seed correctly
During the initial setup, your Trezor device will display a series of words known as your recovery seed.
This seed is the only way to restore your wallet if the device is lost, damaged, or reset. Write the words
down on the provided recovery card, in the exact order, and store them offline in a secure location.
Never take a photo of your recovery seed, never type it into a computer or phone, and never share it with
anyone. No legitimate Trezor support agent will ever ask for your seed. If a website or person requests it,
you are dealing with a scam.
PIN, passphrase, and physical security
After backing up your seed, set a strong PIN on the device. A longer PIN with non-repeating digits makes
brute-force attacks significantly harder. For advanced users, enabling a passphrase adds an extra layer of
protection by creating hidden wallets derived from your seed.
Keep your Trezor in a safe place when not in use, and avoid leaving it connected to a shared or public
computer. Treat it like a physical key to your digital assets.
